Department of Commerce has organized an Industrial Visit to Masqati Dairy farm, Turkyamjal, Hyderabad for B.Com III Year Students on 11th March 2024. Total Number of Students attended for Visit is 41 Students with Four Faculties accompanying.
As part of the visit we were started from the college at 09:25 AM and reached to Masqati Dairy farm, Turkyamjal, Hyderabad at 10:30 AM, there was a security check and instructed the students with some precautions.
Later on Mr. Ajay Kumar, in charge guided the students by separating into batches. The company had different operation units like milk, Ghee, Ice cream, Badam Milk etc. The visit was scheduled from the operation of Butter product at 10:40 AM. Students understood the production process by following way
After the visit of operational unit at 11:15AM students were taken to the other operational (Badam Milk) unit which was accompanied by Mr. Ajay Kumar, in charge and explained the operational procedure of the Badam Milk Product. In this students understood the differences between product operational units.
Later on the students sent to the quality control room and shown how the quality check is done. At 12:35PM students visited the Warehouse of the organization and checked how the material is maintained and understood the flow of the materials from the warehouse to the production Process.
At 12:45PM ended the visit and had Lunch in the canteen near the Masqati Dairy Farm.
After Lunch the trip continued For Karkhana Zinda Tilismath and reached at 2.30PM where Mr. Ajay Kumar explained the history of it and it is being run from Nizam period for 100 Years and also Eco Friendly Factory. He explained about the founder of Zinda Tilismath Products and the Ingredients used in the Zindia Tilismath Liquid which can cure maximum ailments like Cold, Fever, Stomach ache, Head Ache, Digestion Problems etc.,
After that a visit to packing process of Zinda Tilismath and different products the trip was concluded with receiving Gift Hampers from Karkhana Zinda Tilismath at 3.55PM.
And students with Faculties returned to College at 4.55PM.
Parent teacher meeting was conducted for commerce students on 02-03-2024 from 10.30AM to 3.30PM. The parents were intimated through the student official groups as well as made phone calls to the parents well in advance through class faculty and respective mentors.
The parents are satisfied with teaching facility, environment of the college, overall development of their ward. The responses collected from parents in different areas are almost good.

Dhanalakshmi, Associate Professor, Head Department of Economics Kasturba Degree & PG College for Women. She provided an overall idea about budget 2024-25 starting from introduction of budget, types, objectives of budget 2024-25. The session was very helpful for students. The whole event was well attended by all the final years of B.Com & B.A courses. The students presented PPT on the budget 2024-25 covering various aspects of economic significance.

On 02-07-2024, Sardar Patel College celebrated a significant milestone with the grand inauguration of its new Commerce Block.
The event was graced by Mr. D. Sridhar Babu, The IT Minister of Telangana, who officiated the opening ceremony.
Attendees:
The inauguration was attended by distinguished guests, including faculty members, students, administration staff, local dignitaries, and alumni. The Principal, Dr. N. Hemalatha, along with other members of the college management, warmly welcomed Mr. D. Sridhar Babu and other dignitaries to the event.
Ceremony Highlights:
The program began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolizing the spreading of knowledge and wisdom. Following this, the Principal delivered a welcome address, expressing gratitude to Mr. D. Sridhar Babu for his presence and support. In her speech, the Principal highlighted the significance of the new Commerce Block in enhancing the educational infrastructure of the institution.

Keynote Address by Mr. D. Sridhar Babu:
In his keynote address, Mr. Sridhar Babu remarked, "The inauguration of this new Commerce Block is a testament to the vision of Sardar Patel College in preparing students for the challenges of the future. He also encouraged students to make the best use of the resources available at the new Commerce Block and spoke about the government’s initiatives to support education and skill development. Tour of the Facilities:
After the speeches, Mr. D. Sridhar Babu, along with other dignitaries, toured the new Commerce Block. The state-of-the-art facilities include modern classrooms, a dedicated library section, and computer labs, all designed to enhance the learning experience for students.

Programme Overview:
The programme commenced with the Welcome Address and Introduction of Dignitaries by Sri B. N. Rajeshwar, Secretary of the Osmania Graduates Association, Hyderabad. Following this, Prof. T. V. Gopala Chari gave an inspiring speech, emphasizing the importance of the workshop and wishing it great success.
The Workshop Co-ordinator, Dr. K. V. Achalapathi, was introduced by Hon. Secretary Sri B. N. Rajeshwar, after which Dr. Achalapathi addressed the gathering. He stressed the importance of research projects in today’s modern, competitive world. He shared a key lesson he learned from his teacher: to approach research with a clear focus on the What, Why, Who, Where, When, and How of the problem.
Key Speeches:
Prof. K. Krishna Chaitanya expressed his happiness with the introduction by his teacher, Dr. K. V. Achalapathi. He shared memories from their time together and discussed the significant changes brought about by COVID-19. He noted that project guidance in colleges has not met standards and is often compromised. He emphasized the need for reforms in research project guidance in academia.
In his address, Prof. M. Gangadhar highlighted the demand for commerce courses in both rural and urban areas. He stressed the importance of maintaining ethical standards in research projects, discouraging students from copying previous projects, which has become a prevalent trend. He also pointed out that a well-conducted research project is often a key topic during job interviews and placements.
Felicitation and Acknowledgement:
Following the speeches, the dignitaries were felicitated by the OGA members, who expressed gratitude for their valuable insights and shared experiences.
Technical Session 1:
The first technical session began with the introduction of Prof. G. Naresh Reddy by Dr. K. V. Achalapathi, who also provided an overview of the session.
In Technical Session 1, Prof. G. Naresh Reddy emphasized that a good teacher must stay informed about current events, particularly in the fields of commerce, as it is closely linked to industry trends and economic changes. He advised faculty to read business columns in newspapers, which often contain valuable research topics. He highlighted specific examples like the "Pink Tax" (on cosmetics, luxury bags, etc.) and "Blue Tax" (on items like watches and sneakers) to illustrate how certain research topics can be viewed from different perspectives, such as those of consumers, suppliers, or investors.
The faculty were then divided into 9 groups, each consisting of 6 members. They were assigned the task of selecting a research topic and developing a proposal that included the title, research questions, objectives, methodology, hypothesis, sample size, and statistical tools. The groups presented their findings, which were well-received and appreciated for the level of engagement and knowledge shared.
Lunch Break:
A delicious lunch was served, during which attendees discussed their learning’s from the session. There was much enthusiasm for the next session, fueled by the interactive and competitive nature of the workshop.
Technical Session 2:
After the break, Dr. K. V. Achalapathi introduced the next resource person, Prof. A. Patrick, who is renowned for his expertise in Business Statistics, Research Methodology, and Marketing Management.
In Technical Session 2, Prof. A. Patrick focused on statistical methods and tools used in research projects. He explained how to select the sample size, determine which tests to use, and interpret results from data. He shared soft copies of the PPTs and additional books on research methodology with the faculty attendees via email.
After the session, each group was assigned data tables to analyze, interpret, and present their findings. Prof. Patrick provided feedback and appreciated the quality of work presented.
Interactive Activity:
Prof. A. Patrick conducted an interactive activity that highlighted his message that "Action Speaks Louder Than Words." He encouraged participants to not only use the knowledge gained from the workshop to guide students but also to practice writing research papers and engage directly with students in their projects.
Valedictory Session:
Following a short break, the Valedictory Session was conducted by Dr. K. V. Achalapathi, who shared anecdotes from his own teaching experiences. He emphasized the importance of adhering to ethical standards and having the courage to stand by those rules.
The workshop concluded with the distribution of certificates to all participating faculty members, followed by a group photo to commemorate this enriching and productive day.
Faculty Feedback:
The faculty of Sardar Patel College expressed that they felt like students again, and they appreciated the interactive nature of the sessions. They shared that such workshops should be conducted more often, as they provide valuable academic insights. They also expressed their intention to implement what they had learned to guide students in their research projects.
The faculty thanked the management, Osmania Graduates Association, and the Economic Society for providing this opportunity, and they hoped for similar opportunities in the future.

Sports pertain to any form of competitive physical activity or game that aims to use, maintain or improve our physical ability. It is essential for students overall growth and development such as teamwork, leadership, confidence and helps them to face challenges in life.
