About the Department

At Sardar Patel College, the Department of Business Management was established in 2009 and is affiliated with Osmania University a new course BBA was introduced in the year 2020 with CBCS syllabus. Initially, it began with one section of 60 students. In 2023, we received approval for an additional intake of 120 students, bringing the total intake to 180.

Our institution features excellent infrastructure, including 10 well-equipped classrooms with projectors and digital boards. The library is extensive, and well equipped with PCs for student’s use and memberships with INFLIBNET and the National Digital Library, enhancing our resources for research and learning.

Apart from academics the department of business management also supports college committees like Cultural Committee, Alumni Committee, Website Committee, Newsletter, Placement Cell and extra support for AICTE, TARFC, IQAC- NAAC and other activities in the college.

The BBA program offers specializations in Finance, Marketing, and Human Resources.

To build the bridge between academics and Industry, our department organizes industrial visits. We also conduct Management Events, Business Quiz, Student Seminars, Guest \Subject Expert Lectures, to foster students' skills such as Entrepreneurial skills, Communication and Innovative Skills. Furthermore, our faculty regularly participates in Faculty Development Programs to up skill with the latest teaching methodologies.

    PROJECT ORIENTATION PROGRAM FOR BBA FINAL YEAR STUDENTS

    Date: 9th October 2024

    Time: 11:00 A.M

    Report: The program began at 11:00 am with Dr. Anupa Yadav, Head of the Department of Business Management, introducing the guest lecturer, Dr. Javed Mohammed, to the students.

    Dr. Javed commenced the session by emphasizing the importance of being honest in project work. He provided an overview of key aspects, including how to select a project title and the essential chapters of a project report: Introduction, Literature Review, Company Profile, Data Analysis, Findings & Suggestions, and Conclusion.

    He concluded the session by encouraging students to conduct their research with integrity, highlighting how honest work can positively contribute to a company’s growth and development.

  • Student Achievement – National Taekwondo Championship 2025

    T. Poojitha from BBA I Year proudly represented the State in the National Taekwondo Championship for Women held at Bangalore in January 2025 and won two silver medals. The college congratulates her for her outstanding performance and wishes her continued success in future sporting events.

    On the 15th National Voters' Day, celebrated on 25th January 2025, Abhiram, a student of MBA 1st Year, and Y. Piyush Pawar, a student of BBA 4th Semester from Sardar Patel College, participated in a college-level Essay Writing Competition and a district-level Quiz Competition conducted by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).

    To celebrate National Voters' Day, they were awarded the Winner’s Prize at Ravindra Bharathi by Dr. C. Sudharshan Reddy Garu, Telangana State Chief Election Officer.

  • Faculty Achievements
  • 1. E. Deva Karuna, Department of Business Management, presented a paper titled “Role of Innovation and Technology in Entrepreneurship and Development – A Conceptual Overview” at the International Conference on Research Innovation & Challenges held from 30th January to 1st February 2025.

    2. T. Shailaja, Department of Commerce, attended a seminar on 30th and 31st January 2025 at Pingle Government College for Women, Hanumakonda. She presented and published a paper titled “Strategic Decision Making in Economic Empowerment of Women.”

    3. Priya Krishnan, Department of Business Management, attended a 10-day FDP on “Advanced Tools and Techniques for Research Methodology” by RFI–India from 3rd to 13th February 2025.

    4. M. Swapna Rani, Department of Business Management, attended a one-day workshop on “International Financial Reporting Standards” conducted by the Department of Commerce, OU & ACCA, on 13th February 2025.

    5. Priya Krishnan, Department of Business Management, qualified UGC–NET 2025 and was awarded a Degree and Diploma in Banking and Finance by NIIT Ltd. on 20th February 2025.

    6. Dr. Annes Sultana, P. Shirisha, E. Navya Sri, G. Swapna Rani, S. Bhavana, and Priya Krishnan of the Department of Business Management attended a webinar on the Securities Market sponsored by NSE on 6th March 2025.

    7. P. Shirisha and G. Swapna Rani, Department of Business Management, attended the SEBI Investor Certification Awareness Examination on 12th March 2025.
